A Greensboro man wound up in the Greene County jail on July 28 after an altercation with an umpire during an adult softball game.
Sidney Tripp, 42, of 105 Wilson St., Greensboro, has been charged with simple battery as a result.
According to reports, Deputy Josh Corwin was dispatched to the Greene Recreation Complex on Old Union Point Road in reference to a fight.
