Greene County’s 2026 property tax bills were mailed Sept. 18, and will be due Dec. 1, 2026.
This year, eligible properties receiving a homestead exemption will also receive the one-time Homeowner Tax Relief Grant signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp. This relief will appear directly on your tax bill as an $18,000 reduction in assessed value – not as a check or direct payment. The actual dollar savings will vary depending on the millage rates that apply to your property.
It is truly an honor to serve as your Greene County Tax Commissioner. My staff and I are committed to treating everyone with kindness, providing dependable service, and being good stewards of the taxpayers’ money. I am proud to report that our office has collected more than 99% of the 2025 tax digest. That accomplishment helps provide vital funding for our schools, public safety, and other important county services.
I am also proud to have brought a Georgia MV Express kiosk to the Lake Oconee Publix. The kiosk provides a quick and convenient way to renew motor vehicle registrations and print your decal while you shop. It is available during regular Publix business hours and can be used by eligible residents from participating Georgia counties.
