On Feb. 15, 15 counties from across Georgia participated in Cloverleaf District Project Achievement at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. More than 361 youth from these counties participated in public speaking and culinary competitions.
Greene County had 32 competitors in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades at the event, representing Carson Middle School and Lake Oconee Academy. At the event, youth shared presentations they had spent weeks working to perfect. 4-H’ers were judged on their overall appearance, presentation skills, and knowledge of their subject.
At the competition, each child was placed in a topic-specific category to compete against other 4-H members from around the state. Greene County 4-H won several first, second, and third-place awards and had the highest percentage of winners.

“Greene County 4-H is proud of these students and all they have accomplished. We thank parents, volunteers, teen leaders, teachers, and staff for supporting these students in the preparation and execution of their projects.
Our program would not be successful without 4-H volunteers and teen leaders such as Jon Dill, Wendy Dill, Charles Baldwin, Fre’Darious Clark, and Peggy Guderian, who dedicated their time and energy to make the best better,” 4-H leaders said.
