Hot rods and rock ‘n’ roll came of age together and that tradition was apparent on Sept. 19 as downtown Greensboro hosted the 27th annual Rock ‘N Roll Cruise-In.
The event brought nearly 100 years of automobiles to Greensboro from a Ford Model A to a 2016 C7 Corvette.
“We had nearly 100 cars, and I would say we had a pretty good turnout,” Main Street Manager Kendrick Ward said.
The event featured live entertainment from the BlaqBerry Band, creating the perfect soundtrack for a classic cars and downtown excitement. Attendees also enjoyed a wide variety of delicious food from local vendors and supporting downtown businesses.
“The Rock N Roll Cruise-In was a tremendous success, and we are grateful to everyone who brought a vehicle, volunteered, performed and attended,” Curt Semanson, Georgia Classic Cruiser president said. “Events like this showcase the energy and excitement happening in downtown Greensboro while bringing our community together.”
The event was sponsored by Jimmy Britt Chevrolet/GMC and Georgia Classic Cruisers. All proceeds are earmarked for local charities. Eddie Oliver’s sweet 1967 Pontiac GTO powered by a 428-engine paired with a 5-speed transmission was selected Best in Show, and 28 class awards were handed out by Semanson at the conclusion of the event.
