MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Morgan County deputies set up safety checkpoints at Parks Mill and Reeds Ferry roads as well as Godfrey and Indian Creek roads on May 11. One verbal warning was issued. A safety checkpoint was also set up at Old Mill and Davis Academy roads. Two warnings were issued.

A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to the Pit Stop convenience store on Seven Islands Road in reference to a burglary that occurred May 11.

Latravious Lamont Green, 19, of Augusta was arrested May 12 and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended, no valid insurance and speeding (110 mph in a 70-mph zone).

William Hall Morrow, 31, of Stone Mountain was arrested May 13 and charged with DUI, driving while license suspended, failure to maintain lane and open container.

Austin Brian Burney, 18, of Covington was arrested May 14 and charged with DUI and open container.

Jerome Walker, 52, of Reidsville, North Carolina, was arrested May 14 and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to maintain lane. An Evans man reported a stolen vehicle taken from

An Evans man reported a stolen vehicle taken from the spot where it had been parked on I-20 to the Morgan County Sheriff›s Office on May 16.

Darius Coats was arrested May 16 on a probation violation warrant by a Morgan County deputy.

A Morgan County deputy was sent to a Nunn Lane address May 16 in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant said the keys to two John Deere tractors valued at a total of $130,000 were taken from his farm. He said the radio in one of the tractors had been tuned to a rap station, and he does not listen to rap music.

According to a report, three unused firearm rounds were turned into the principal of the Morgan County Primary School on May 16. The rounds were placed into evidence at the MCSO.

MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT

A Madison police officer was dispatched to the Advance Auto Parts store on Eatonton Road May 10 in reference to found property. A man at the store told the officer he found a child’s Huffy bike abandoned in the bushes. The bike was taken to the city shop for safekeeping.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to Olde South Wine and Spirits on Eatonton Road May 10 in reference to a shoplifting incident. The complainant said a white male wearing jeans, a red shirt and a Los Angeles Lakers hat entered the store and put a bottle of vodka valued at $9 in his pants. The man left the store, but when the complainants confronted him about the vodka, he swung at them and left the store in a white Ford Explorer with a California tag. The complainant said the man had shoplifted from the store in the past.

Niklas Gregory Morin of Bishop was arrested May 5 and charged with DUI.

A Madison police officer was sent to the Red Roof Inn on Eatonton Road in reference to a person who wanted to speak to an officer about harassment on May 13.

Fayelynn Denise McGill, 33, no address listed on report, was arrested May 14 and charged with theft by shoplifting. According to the report, McGill was changing price tags and checking out items at the lower price.

A Madison police officer was dispatched to a Carriage Lane address in reference to an entering auto complaint May 10. The complainant said nothing was missing.

Michael Vance Dawkins, 36, no address listed on report, was arrested May 13 and charged with obstruction of an officer.

GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Ediberto Flores Silva, 36, of Greensboro was arrested May 11 and charged with robbery, cruelty to children in the third degree, simple battery under the family violence statute and simple battery.

Daquan Kinloch, 26, of Huger, South Carolina, was arrested May 11 and charged with obstruction of an officer engaged in official duty which results in serious physical harm to the officer, financial transaction card forgery, identity fraud and attempted removal of a weapon from a public official.

Maedeidra Daniella Dorr, 22, of Aiken, South Carolina, was arrested May 15 and charged with DUI (multiple substances), speeding, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, failure to maintain lane, open container, failure to stop at a stop sign and possession of a schedule 1 or 2 controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Joseph Wade Smith, 33, of Union Point was arrested May 11 and charged with driving while license suspended and reckless driving. He was also cited for running a stop sign.

Cynthia Perry, 47, of Greensboro was arrested May 11 and charged with battery. According to the report, Perry hit a young woman with a bat.

Marquise Jarrell Bush, 23, of Beech Island, South Carolina, was arrested May 10 and charged with obstruction of officers.

GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Sunday. May 8, while patrolling the area of Town Creek Blvd., officers observed an open door at Jimmy Britt Chevrolet. The building was cleared and secured.

On Sunday May 8, while patrolling the area of East South Street, officers observed a vehicle with an expired tag. Officers made contact with the driver, Ruth Ann Oakley, 54, of Sikeston Missouri. Oakley was issued a citation for expired tag and no insurance.

On Sunday, May 8, while patrolling the area of North Walnut Street, officers observed a driver operating a vehicle without a seatbelt. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver was identified as Meredith Shelton, 44, of Eatonton. After further investigation, Shelton was issued citations for a seatbelt violation, no insurance and suspended registration.

On Sunday, May 8, officers responded to the area of Pool Road in reference to a fight. After further investigation, officers arrested Niesha Latrice Fair, 20, of Greensboro on the charge to driving while license suspended. A warrant for simple battery was issued for Grady Delean Clay, 41, of Greensboro.

On Monday, May 9, while patrolling the area of Tiger Drive, officers observed a vehicle with a tint violation and an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle where the passenger was known to have an active warrant out of Greensboro. The driver was given a warning for tint and released. The passenger, Egypt Elizabeth Lumpkin, 22, of Madison was arrested and served her warrant.

On Tuesday, May 10, officers responded to the area of Willow Run Road in reference to a damage to property that occurred on South Main Street. The complainant stated that a vehicle struck the side of her trailer fender and kept driving.

On Wednesday, May 11, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to an unknown person sleeping in an apartment. After further investigation, Marlos Jermaine Foster, 45, of White Plains was arrested on the charge of criminal trespassing.

On Thursday, May 12, while patrolling the area of Tiger Drive, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a head light requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Damien Warren Hall, 42, of Greensboro. Hall was arrested on the charge of driving while license suspended. Hall was issued a warning for the headlight requirement.

On Thursday, May 12, officers responded to the area of North West Street in reference to a fire. The fire was extinguished by the responding officer; the scene was turned over to the Greensboro Fire Department.

On Thursday, May 12, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive in reference to a damage to property complaint. The complainant stated that a deer hit the passenger side of her vehicle.

On Thursday, May 12, officers responded to the Ingles located on West Broad Street in reference to a child wandering through the store and parking lot. After further investigation, the child was returned to the grandparents.

On Thursday, May 12, officers responded to the area of West Broad Street in reference to citizens complaint. The complainant stated that an individual started knocking on his window using profanity. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

On Friday, May 13, officers responded to the area Brighton Road, in reference to a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that someone kept knocking on his door. Officers made contact with the individual, Charleston Weaver, 39, of Greensboro. Weaver was arrested on the charge of public drunkenness.

On Friday, May 13, officers responded to the Family Dollar located on South Main Street in reference to an alarm activation. All windows and doors were secured.

On Friday, May 13, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle without a tag light. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and noticed a strong smell of alcohol. The driver, Hernan Alvarez Ramirez, 25, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of DUI and driving while unlicensed.

On Saturday, May 14, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle fail to maintain lane. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and Ignacio Hernandez Medina, 63, of Greensboro was arrested on charges of failure to maintain lane and driving while license suspended.

On Saturday, May 14, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle with the driver and passenger not wearing a seat belt. After further investigation, the passenger, Antoine Lamar Stonum, 26, was issued a citation for a seat belt violation and possession of marijuana – less than an ounce.

On Saturday, May 14, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a driver get out of a vehicle that was known to have a suspended license from a previous traffic stop. After further investigation, Brittany Nicole Hernandez-Deleon, 28, of Greensboro was arrested on the charges of driving while license suspended and two counts of inadequate child safety restraints.

On Saturday, May 14, while patrolling the area of North East Street, officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the area of Pool Road. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle when the driver began to travel at a high rate of speed. After a brief chase, the vehicle flipped on the wood line. The driver was identified as Otis Brown Jr., 41, of Greensboro. Brown was arrested on the charges of failure to maintain lane, fleeing/ attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving under the influence of alcohol and an open container violation.

On Saturday, May 14, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle in violation of a headlight requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Bertino De La Cruz, 28, of Madison. Cruz was arrested on the charges of a headlight requirement, driving without license and a child safety restraint violation.

For the week of May 8-14, the Greensboro Police Department responded to four accidents, and 95 citations were issued.
