The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club of North Central Georgia hosted an unforgettable evening of celebration, inspiration, and legacy on April 10 at its annual Senior Blue Carpet Celebration, honoring five graduating seniors whose journeys reflect the heart of the Club’s mission: developing leaders of character, purpose, and impact.
From the moment they stepped onto the Blue Carpet, each senior was recognized not only for academic accomplishments but also for the resilience, growth, and leadership they demonstrated along the way. The evening featured heartfelt speeches that moved the audience and underscored the life-changing influence of the Club experience.
“This moment with our seniors is truly special,” Club Director Stacy McClendon said. “It has given me the opportunity to reflect on the years since I first met these incredible young people when they were just seven years old.
“To now witness their growth into strong, capable, and purpose-driven individuals is both emotional and inspiring. Watching them step forward into their futures with confidence and determination is something I will always cherish.”
“Tonight, I encouraged our seniors to move forward with confidence, carrying with them the skills, values, and lessons they’ve gained here at the Club,” teen director James Kilgore said. “As they step into their bright futures, I challenge them never to forget where they came from and to always look for opportunities to give back and uplift others along the way.”
Brockton
A dedicated Keystone Leader, Brockton has consistently exemplified growth, leadership, and purpose throughout his journey at the Club. He is not simply pursuing higher education — he is pursuing a purpose. Through mentoring younger members, supporting Club initiatives, and leading by example, Brockton has become a trusted and dependable presence. He leads with confidence, humility, and respect, embracing every opportunity to serve and uplift those around him.
Markecia
Markecia’s journey is a powerful reflection of perseverance, growth, and purpose. Since the age of five, she has been a consistent and inspiring presence within the Club, fully embracing its values of respect, responsibility, and service. Over the years, she has grown into a confident, compassionate, and driven young woman who now serves as a role model for younger members. As she approaches graduation, Markecia stands poised to make a meaningful impact, guided by her passion for helping others and unwavering determination.
Jailyn
A distinguished senior at Greene County High School, Jailyn embodies the essence of a true servant leader.
Known for his discipline, character, and work ethic, he has earned the respect of peers, educators, and community leaders alike. As offensive line captain of his football team and an athletic trainer, he demonstrates leadership, resilience, and a team-first mentality. Beyond athletics, Jailyn’s roles as a Keystone Leader, Youth City Council mayor, and active participant in multiple student leadership organizations reflect his deep commitment to civic engagement and excellence.
VaQuaria
VaQuaria’s story is one of full-circle impact. Beginning as a young Club member, she has grown into a Youth Development Professional, now giving back to the very organization that helped shape her life. Her leadership and mentorship have made a lasting difference, particularly in inspiring younger members like Kaycee to dream bigger.
Crowned Miss Black Northeast Georgia Teen 2025, VaQuaria has used her platform to launch “Crown Yourself,” an initiative empowering young girls to embrace confidence, identity, and purpose. Her journey is a powerful testament to generational impact and leadership in action.
Domonique
As a dedicated Keystone Leader, Domonique has distinguished himself as a servant leader and dependable role model. He consistently supports staff, mentors, and younger members and contributes to the Club's daily success.
Known for humility, integrity, and a strong work ethic, he balances academic commitment with leadership responsibilities, earning the respect of all who know him. His steady presence and genuine investment in others make him an essential part of the club community.
