Voters in Greene County’s District 4 have a new Republican candidate Greene County Board of Commissioners.
Mark Blanton recently announced his candidacy for the District 4 seat on the Greene County BOC.
Blanton has been a resident of Greene County since 1992, the same year he established his small business: Greensboro Jewelers located at 118 N. Main Street in downtown Greensboro.
Over the years, Blanton has demonstrated his interest in civic affairs by serving as a member and chairman of the Greensboro Downtown Development Authority, as a member and chairman of the Greensboro Business Association, and is currently the chairman of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Greene County Courthouse.

Blanton and his wife Susan are both native Georgians and have been married since 1987.
