Twelve Greene County 4-H’ers traveled to Perry, on Jan. 21, to compete in the Georgia 4-H Indoor Archery Match.

Gatewood students present ‘Stone Soup’ play

In front of audiences of teachers and students, and later parents, Gatewood Schools first- and second-graders performed “Stone Soup” on  Feb. 3, a play that teaches the value of sharing. In the story, hungry strangers come to a town where residents claim they have no food to share.

National Job Shadow Day

Not only was Feb. 2 Groundhog Day, but it was also National Job Shadow Day. Greene College & Career Academy students had the opportunity to explore careers through shadowing people who are working in career fields they are interested in pursuing.

Lawton scholarship fund for Greene Co. students

Greg and Anna Lawton have partnered with ATLAS Ministry, a non-denominational Christian organization in Greensboro, to administer the Lawton Family Scholarship Fund (LFSF).

Doo Wop Project swings into The Plaza

The New York City-based Doo Wop Project played to a full house Saturday night at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, treating nostalgic fans, young and old(er), to a wide array of songs from the 1940s to the present day.
