    The Thillen Education Foundation, in collaboration with Greene College & Career Academy, revealed the latest recipients of its Dave Dollar Awards during its quarterly reception on Tuesday, April 16. The event, hosted at the Greene College & Career Academy, brought together career coaches, parents, family members, friends, and school staff to commend students for their exceptional efforts during the past quarter.

    Over the 2023-2024 school year, Greene County High School students earned over $100,000 in Dave Dollar awards. More awards and recognition will be presented at the Senior Honors Night on May 20.

    The Dave Dollar Awards program is a distinctive program designed to reward students attending Greene College & Career Academy for their hard work throughout their four years of high school.

    This Dave Dollars transition into real dollars upon the student’s graduation from Greene County High School. In addition to these earned financial incentives to excel, the program provides each student with a career coach throughout high school.

    Students who earn Dave Dollars can utilize their funds based on their chosen path post-graduation. For those pursuing further education, the earned funds can be applied to expenses associated with starting college or a certification program.

    For those entering the workforce immediately, the funds can be employed to acquire professional supplies essential for initiating their careers.

    Additionally, students opting for military service can use their earned funds to purchase necessary supplies for the commencement of their service or allocate them toward continuing education or career startup expenses, either during or after completing military service.

    The Thillen Education Foundation and Greene College & Career Academy remain committed to recognizing and supporting the hard work and dedication of students, empowering them to achieve their academic and career goals. The Dave Dollar Awards program stands as a testament to this commitment, providing tangible support and encouragement for the student’s future endeavors.
