Bah, Humbug!
The First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro presented “The Sins of Scrooge” for its 2nd annual Dickens Christmas.
Visitors and parishioners were welcomed into the church by lady carolers singing. The pathway was lit by candlelight, and most members were dressed in Dickens's time.
The Ringing of the Bells by Barbara Robbins began the ceremony, and Rev. Meg Jackson Clark welcomed all to this special evening. Following the opening prayers and the hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” Rev. Jackson Clark narrated the time and faith of Charles Dickens.
The cast of performers included Spencer Hinds as Ebenezer Scrooge; Alex Stevens as Bob Cratchit; Steve Stewart as Jeeves, the charity solicitor; C.J. Jackson as Tiny Tim; and the Londoners were Jan Brazier, Patty Edmonds, Mary Bowers, Carla Pinkney, Verley Dotson and Joan Stevens.
Beth Lewis, Jocelyn Clark, Gail Kavanaugh, Sue Cross, Joan Stevens, Meg Jackson Clark, and Rusty Faulkner were the carolers.
