Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club celebrates Starry Nights Celebration

The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club hosted its Starry Nights Celebration at Harbor Club in Greensboro on Sept. 21.

The record-breaking fundraising event brought together community members, supporters, and donors for an inspiring evening dedicated to building bright futures for local youth.

Starry Nights Celebration is one of only two yearly signature fundraisers for the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club. (The other event is the annual BBQ Fest held in June.)

With the tremendous support of those who attended, the event raised substantial funds, surpassing all previous fundraising efforts and continuing the Club’s mission of empowering young people. The Boys & Girls Club aims to unlock limitless possibilities for every child who walks through its doors by fostering confidence, providing essential skills, and guiding them through life’s challenges.

Starry Nights Committee Chair Norine Lassa commented on the evening’s success: “The community came together for this event and made my job easy by sponsoring and donating their time, money, and auction items to help support the cause.”

A highlight of the evening was hearing from three youth members, whose stories illustrated the power of the Club’s programs. One of the speakers, now a college student, has been involved with the Club since she was eight years old. The Club also heard from a current high school student and an elementary school student.

Each shared how the Boys & Girls Club has positively impacted their lives, underscoring the incredible potential within every young person when allowed to succeed.

“The event exceeded our expectations, helping us raise more money than ever before,” said Chuck Rowland, Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club Board chair chair. “This incredible support allows us to continue doing whatever it takes to help these kids thrive.”

Your support ensures that children who may be struggling or facing obstacles are instead provided opportunities to thrive, gain confidence, and positively impact their community.

“We deeply appreciate everyone who attended for their commitment to the cause and invite the community to further their impact by joining our monthly giving program,” Club leaders said. “Together, we can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.”
