PUTNAM COUNTY
The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) has been working hard to bring to life 12 Angry Jurors on Nov. 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 12 and 19 at 3 p.m. at The Plaza Arts Center.
Please note no Saturday performances are scheduled.
Directed locally by Sarah Daly Weir and Dennis McClain, the play is based on the Emmy award-winning television movie 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose and adapted for stage by Sherman Sergel. Set in a large city, circa 1950s, the plot centers around intense jury deliberations following the trial of a 19-year-old man accused of the fatal stabbing of his father.
Rehearsals are currently underway with cast members including Johnny Wagoner, Bill Dudley, Diane Bennett Shinneman, Sandy Young, Darlene McCumiskey, Lou Benjamin, Michelle Saarela, Dan Kniffen, and Doug Ivey, all of whom have been involved in previous PAPA productions. Appearing on the Plaza stage for the first time with PAPA will be Phil Armstrong, Becky Nipper, Sue Strange, Brent Mero, Robin Cassidy, and Gretter Navanjo.
Tickets for 12 Angry Jurors are $25, $20 or $15 each, and available online at plazacenter.org or by calling 706-923-1655.
