MAGallery presents ‘Resonance’

MORGAN COUNTY

MAGallery presents “Resonance,” a compelling joint exhibition by friends and fellow artists Isabell Daniel and Patty O’Keefe Hutton.

Both women center their work on the richness, diversity, and strength found within human expression. While their mediums differ — Daniel works in clay and Hutton in paint — their shared focus on the face as a vessel for storytelling and emotion creates a profound dialogue between their works.

Daniel, deeply influenced by years spent living in Japan, draws inspiration from global mask-making traditions and the theatrical world of puppetry. Her figurative clay vessels feature exotic faces that invite viewers to connect through shared life experiences.

O’Keefe Hutton describes her creative process as “a fascinating dance of hand and brush, listening and doing, risk and comfort, stillness and movement.” Her portraits of women, rendered with quiet intensity, offer a solemn, direct gaze that whispers of something deep and true.

MAGallery invites the community to celebrate the opening of “Resonance” on Friday, April 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at a catered reception featuring live music.

Both artists will attend, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the creators behind the work. “Resonance,” the third in a series of exciting special exhibitions at MAGallery this year, will remain on view through May 31. Each special exhibition introduces established or emerging artists to the Madison/Morgan County community, fostering cultural dialogues through art.

In addition to its rotating exhibitions, MAGallery features the original works of local and regional artists and authors on a regular basis. The gallery is operated by the Madison Artists Guild, a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging artistic endeavors in its community.

MAGallery is located at 125 W. Jefferson St., Madison. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
