Lake & Local, an event venue and gift shop in downtown Greensboro, will host a free tailgate party Aug, 13, from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. at its shop and garden (104 S. Main St.).
The tailgate party will feature live music by musician Kevin Alexander, who is the worship pastor at Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee and performs locally with musical partner Caleb Williams as Slim Pickins.
There will be free hot dogs and drinks, plus the Kona Ice Truck also will be on-site for a portion of the day selling all sizes and flavors of Kona Ice.
Tailgaters also will be able to participate in a friendly game of cornhole while hanging out in the garden watching a replay of the 2022 National Championship game featuring the winning University of Georgia Bulldogs.
Additionally, Lake & Local will debut and feature sales of its new Fall Collection of products, featuring handbags, blankets, football-themed jewelry and accessories, fall home decor, and more.
The Oconee Regional Humane Society will be on site, too, hosting a “Tail-gate” of its own with puppies and kittens ready to find their forever homes. The pet adoption will take place inside Lake & Local from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and all pet products will be discounted for those who adopt a pet during the event.
Lake & Local co-owners Kelly Parham and Kirsten Thompson encourage everyone to bring their families to enjoy the event and also take time to visit other downtown Greensboro merchants.
