Most people know someone from where they grew up who is often hailed as a hometown “hero.” Whether it’s a politician, musician, artist, or author, there are just some who stand out and go on to accomplish great things.

The Plaza is ready to shine a spotlight on a few of those talented folks this Saturday night (Oct. 14), at the Homegrown Talent outdoor concert. Featuring Eatonton’s own Matt Rogers as headliner and host for the evening, this show is all about welcoming home some very talented Middle Georgia musicians.

Currently living in Nashville chasing his country music dreams, Rogers now travels all across the country spreading his authentic down-home Georgia sound. On Saturday he will be back in Eatonton to emcee the evening and play some of his music for an appreciative local audience.

Greensboro native Luke Boswell will be among the locals playing a set of his music, too. Boswell has played at The Plaza before, opening up for Rogers just last year, but is excited to come back and play for the outdoor crowd.

Additionally, R.J. Sanders from Cochran will play both the classics and new stuff with a distinct country “twang.” Sanders also is used to playing for big crowds of all ages and promises to be a unique addition to the night.

And finally, Fall Line Rambler is no stranger to the stage, especially in Lake Country. This Milledgeville-based group brings a little soul, a little country, and a lot of rhythm to their high-energy performances.

Tickets to Homegrown Talent ($50 VIP, $25 lawn) remain available at plazacenter.org.
