The Harbor Club Pickleball Association held a members-only tournament April 20 with more than 30 players in both the intermediate and advanced levels that were combined for play.

Each game lasted 10 minutes. There were eight rounds with partners and opponents changing after every game. Throughout the morning, door prizes were announced and handed out, much to the delight of everyone in attendance.

At the end of the play, overall point winners were announced. The women’s winners were Sue Hagen with the gold; silver went to Linda Fitzgerald; and Lisa Soeter won the bronze medal.

The Men’s gold medal went to Walter Straus, silver to Billy Adams, and bronze to Mike Fitzpatrick. A very special prize of the Pickleball band-aids was awarded by Steele King to Phil Hagen among much laughter and huge applause, as most members are well acquainted with hits from Phil’s paddle.

Organizers Steele King, Sandra Sandling, Jose Perez, and Sue Hagen, along with scorekeepers Bobby Richardson and Felton Sandling, ensured participants and spectators had a great morning. There are more events planned for later this year.
