For more than 30 years, Tim Green has reimagined interior spaces with a passion for thoughtful, approachable design.
Serving clients from Atlanta to Los Angeles — and now proudly calling Lake Oconee home — Green is known for transforming both residential and commercial settings into environments that are as functional as they are beautiful.
Beyond his design expertise, Green is deeply committed to supporting his local community. When he learned about the inspiring mission of The Victory Train, he knew he wanted to get involved. On Sept. 11, Green will host a fundraising benefit at his design studio to support this impactful program.
“The Victory Train is doing incredible work to support families and help build future leaders in our community,” Green shared. “By working with children to ensure they are kindergarten-ready, we are investing in the future of Greene County. I am honored to be part of this amazing effort and to help make such a positive impact.”
The Victory Train is a unique early childhood education program that empowers parents to become their child’s first and best teacher, building a strong foundation for success from birth to kindergarten — and ultimately, for high school graduation.
Founded by community leader Theresa Kemp, The Victory Train began as a grassroots effort with just 58 children in 2020 and has grown to serve over 400 children across Greene County. Its mission is simple yet powerful: equip families with the knowledge and resources to help every child enter kindergarten ready to learn, thrive, and succeed.
What sets The Victory Train apart is its commitment to meeting families exactly where they are. Each week, volunteers deliver age-appropriate educational packets, books, and activities directly to families’ front doors, resulting in a 600% increase in participation and meaningful engagement.
With overhead costs under 2%, more than 98% of every dollar donated goes directly to program services. As the demand grows, The Victory Train is seeking sponsors and supporters to help expand its reach.
Green is stepping up to help spread the word and raise vital funds to sustain this momentum.
“We are grateful to Tim for his generosity and for opening his beautiful studio to host this event. With his support, we have already met new donors and supporters,” Kemp said. “We look forward to a wonderful evening that will be the talk of the community and a tremendous benefit for our mission.”
The benefit will take place on Thursday, Sept. 11, at Tim Green Designs, 1210 Commerce Dr., Greensboro. Sponsorships and tickets are limited for this inaugural event.
