Festival Hall will be swingin’ with Gransden

GREENE COUNTY

Festival Hall in downtown Greensboro will close out its 15th year by hosting jazz trumpet master Joe Gransden with his nine-piece orchestra Dec. 18, performing “Swingin’ in the Holidays.”

Gransden, a New York state native who now lives in Roswell, has performed worldwide, and has released 16 albums under his own name. Renowned for the hard bop approach of his trumpet, Gransden’s singing voice has been compared to that of Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra.

Gransden is a triple threat: fabulous singer, killer trumpet player, and a charmingly hilarious storyteller. After more than 30 years of performing, he has honed his talents and always brings the best musicians along for the ride.

“Joe killed it here,” Festival Hall Director Nicole Chillemi recalled of Gransden’s appearance last December in Greensboro. “We are so excited to have Joe and his fabulous musicians back to cap off 15 years at the Hall!”

Tickets are available now at festivalhall.com for this Dec. 18 event at 7:30 p.m. featuring Joe Gransden. This program is sponsored in part by Visit Lake Oconee and Remembering Ron Lang.
