In May, 78 members of The Artisans Village Guild selected 139 photos from samples provided by 15 Lake Country Photo Club photographers.
Guild members then spent much of the summer creating artwork in a variety of mediums, from jewelry to paintings to sculpture to textile art and beyond.
Next Thursday, Sept. 18, both the photos and the artwork they inspired will be featured at a reception for the 9th annual Dual Vision: Art Through Different Eyes show at Barrel 118 in downtown Eatonton. The reception is free and open to the public, with refreshments served.
“Reception attendees can vote for their favorite piece of artwork and their favorite photo,” Guild President Debbie Payne said. “At the end of the night, we will tally the ballots and present People’s Choice Awards to the winning artist and winning photographer.”
Dual Vision Coordinator Linda Foster said Artisans Village Guild members look forward each year to collaborating with Lake Country Photo Club photographers.
“This year we had a record number of photos chosen, so we will have a huge number of photos and artwork to see,” Foster said. “The Thursday night reception always is well attended, making for a lively evening of fun and art.”
Following Thursday’s reception is scheduled for 5-7:30 p.m. at Barrel 118 (118 N. Jefferson Ave., Eatonton), with the People’s Choice Award winners to be announced at 7 p.m.
The Dual Vision Experience will continue at Barrel 118 on Friday, Sept. 19, with retail hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., a beginner-level pet portrait painting class at 3 p.m., and an evening of live music, creative cocktails, and artist demonstrations starting at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, retail hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information can be found online at theartisanvillage.org.
Including registration for pet portrait classes.
The Dual Vision show will be moved after next weekend to The Artisans Village Art Gallery (110 W. Marion St., Eatonton), where all involved artwork and photos will remain available for purchase through Oct. 30.
