Come From Away coming soon to Festival Hall

GREENE COUNTY

The Lake Country Players (LCP) are about to bring one of Broadway’s most inspiring and acclaimed musicals to downtown Greensboro, as Come From Away will be featured next month at historic Festival Hall.

Based on remarkable true events that unfolded in the immediate days following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Come From Away tells the uplifting story of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, where nearly 7,000 stranded airline passengers found unexpected refuge in Canada after U.S. airspace was closed.

What began as a global crisis became a testament to compassion, generosity, humor, and music, transforming strangers into lifelong friends and reminding audiences of the extraordinary kindness that can emerge in the most difficult times.

Winner of numerous awards and celebrated as one of Broadway’s most moving and unforgettable musicals, Come From Away captivated worldwide audiences with powerful storytelling, a soaring score, and a celebration of the human spirit.

The LCP production will be directed and choreographed by Michael A. Blackmon, with musical direction by Manuel Martinez. The show features an ensemble cast portraying dozens of characters, making versatility, precision, and strong storytelling essential to each performance.

Come From Away is poised to become one of LCP’s most memorable shows to date, bringing Broadway-level heart and humanity to Lake Country.

Performances will take place at Festival Hall, 201 N. Main Street, Greensboro, on Nov. 5-8 and Nov. 13-14. Tickets are available now at lakecountryplayers.org.
