Luxe Braid Bar officially opened its doors on April 9 in downtown Eatonton.

Along the brick buildings of 108 North Jefferson Avenue, Luxe Braid Bar is a moss green structure with a vibrant, dark blue door. The salon is owned by a local citizen, J’von Solomon, and is a salon for braiders and braiding products.

Solomon has five years of braiding experience and two years of professional experience in a previous hair salon. Her passion for wanting to open the salon was inspired by her previous work experience as the only braider within a hair salon.

“In a salon environment, it made me want to open my own salon,” said Solomon. “I wanted to create an environment just for braiders and I either wanted to open a salon or hair store. Then the opportunity opened itself for a salon so that’s how Luxe Braid Bar came along.”

Luxe Braid Bar was completely ready to open after only 30 days. Solomon was dedicated to her goal and worked excessively for multiple days in the salon painting, arranging stations, and so much more for the grand opening celebration on April 9.

“I knew the longer I waited, the longer that moment might leave,” said Solomon. “I knew that I wanted to open up soon so I rushed to ship everything, worked with others to get stations put together, and I was up there everyday getting ready.”

The salon opened with a big influx of visitors at the grand opening celebration. This celebration was highly shared through Facebook and many citizens attended the opening ceremony to show their support for a young entrepreneur and stylist.

“I would like to thank everyone who came out to help me celebrate the grand opening of Luxe Braid Bar,” said Solomon. “Though we just opened, business is going great.”

Though the salon has only been open for a short period of time, business has been doing very well. Being in downtown, there is a variety of both parking advantages and foot traffic advantages that help lead potential customers into the salon.

“I like the environment that I am in and where I am located,” said Solomon.

Luxe Braid Bar offers a list of choices for styles. According to the booking website, the choices are split up into categories including: braids, crotchet, feed-ins, kid styles, knotless braids, lemonade braids, locs, men styles, microlocks, natural tingz, ponytails, take down, touch ups, tribal braids and twists.

“If there are any questions or concerns, we are happy to talk to you,” said Solomon. “We are there most days until six o’clock. Stop by at any time and know that we do accept walk-ins.”
