The Putnam County Family Connection Collaborative (PCFCC) held its monthly meeting on May 3, at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton.
This collaborative is a local office of Georgia Family Connection Partnership (GaFCP), a statewide network dedicated to the health and well-being of families and communities.
The main focus of the meeting was the review of its resource guide, meant as a directory of resources available to Putnam County families.
The current guide dates back to 2016 and needs significant updating. In his introductory speech, GaFCP Regional Manager Adam Swymer mentioned Find Help Georgia (findhelpga.org), where people can go, enter their zip code, and find resources specific to their location.
Following Swymer's comments, attendees reviewed pages of the existing guide that Swymer had taped to the walls, updating and adding information as needed.
Swymer said the FY24 plan for PCFCC would be effective July 1, and he already had a few board members on the list pending approval of the collaborative.
He added, however, that the chairperson and a fiscal agent are yet to be determined. For June and July, Swymer proposed holding smaller group meetings via Zoom.
Prior to those, he plans to do the interest survey to find out the committees that attendees would be willing to help with. The plan for the following two months is to prioritize and select the most pressing issues, finalize the selection of the executive board, and hold the kickoff meeting in August.
