A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff's Office arrested Atlanta rapper Marquavis Goolsby (better known by the pseudonym "Dae Dae") yesterday and charged him with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana (less than one ounce and crossing the guard lines with contraband.

Goolsby was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by the deputy after he checked the vehicle's speed at 92 in a 70 mph zone.

According to Lee Stancil of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy observed Goolsby crawl into the back seat while the vehicle was pulling over.

After the vehicle stopped, the deputy made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and immediately smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.

In addition, a firearm was observed in plain view in the passenger floorboard of the vehicle.

Following a search of the vehicle, another firearm was located under the passenger seat. The gun observed in the floorboard of the vehicle had been reported stolen. The driver, identified as Dontavious McCrary, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Goolsby was charged with theft by receiving stolen propery and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce).

According to Stancil, Goolsby was caught trying to dispose of marijuana in the patrol car during the transport to the Greene County Sheriff's Office. An additional charge of crossing guard lines with contraband was added.

According to the Greene County Magistrate Court, Goolsby posted a $25,000 bond on Friday, Feb. 2.

He was then picked up on outstanding warrant by Fulton County law enforcement, according to Stancil.
