The Greene County High School boy’s basketball team started their season off with a 68-57 win over Oglethorpe County on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
The Tigers began their 2020-21 season at home before traveling to Morgan County on Saturday, Dec. 5.
In the game against the Oglethorpe County Patriots, GCHS Head Coach Greg Freeman said his team started out fast, played with a lot of energy and managed to maintain the lead throughout the contest. Freeman was proud of how his boys played and called the first win of the season on their home court “great.”
When asked what he felt was particularly key in the win over Oglethorpe, Freeman said the team managed to get many turnovers and get buckets in transition.
Despite losing to Morgan County on Saturday, Freeman said the GCHS Tigers have high hopes for the 2020-21 season.
“We hope to get back into the state playoffs this year and push to go as far as we possibly can,” Freeman said.
