Rotary Club Honors February students of the month

The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties is pleased to announce the following Students-of-the-Month for February 2020: Isabella Stickley (Gatewood Schools), Mya Yolisha Greene (Greene County High School), Jessica Patino (Lake Oconee Academy), Grant Bear (Nathanael Greene Academy) and Ryleigh Holloway (Putnam County High School).

Isabella Stickley is a senior at Gatewood Schools. She is the daughter of David and Tracy Stickley. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Georgia Merit winner and was a Junior Marshall. Isabella is a good listener, is compassionate and always willing to serve. She enjoys volleyball, basketball, tennis and track. In addition, her hobbies include drawing, painting, crafting and building. She is a member of the Interact Club, Anchor Club, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Literary Team and has volunteered at Vacation Bible School and the monthly LifeSource Food Distribution. She plans to attend Mercer University and major in mechanical engineering. She chose Martha Sammons as her teacher of the month.

Mya Greene attends Greene County High School (GCHS) and is the daughter of Stephen and Darlene Greene. She is among the talented Top 10 of her senior class, holds a Microsoft Specialist certification, has the highest GPA in chemistry, and is an accomplished artist. She is a member of the Interact Club and assists with the annual art show which includes art, music and drama. She is an active athlete, competing in cross-country, basketball and marching band. She also enjoys dance, drawing, singing and writing. Greene is a Youth Leadership Greene graduate and enjoys working as a volunteer for Southland Jubilee and the Senior Citizen Prom. She plans to attend either the University of Georgia or Georgia State University and major in biomedical engineering with a minor in graphic design or dance. She selected Sarah White as her teacher of the month.

Jessica Patino is a senior at Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) and is the daughter of Ana Rocio Rojas. Throughout high school, Jessica has taken 13 AP courses while maintaining high honors. She has received the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. She is the student body vice president and has been an officer of the Beta Club. She enjoys playing on the soccer and cross-country teams. She enjoys reading, traveling, baking and spending time with her friends. She volunteers at Rivers Alive, LOA Shoe Drive, LOA American Red Cross Blood Drive and tutors elementary grades in Spanish. After graduation, Jessica plans to attend Georgia Tech and pursue an undergraduate degree in niology. Jessica chose Chris Ingle as her teacher of the month.

Grant Bear is a student at Nathanael Greene Academy (NGA). He is the son of John and Missy Bear. Grant is a member of the Beta Club and is a graduate of Youth Leadership Greene. He has competed in Quiz Bowl and robotics, having placed fifth in state last year. He was the director of Vacation Bible School for the past four years at his church and is employed at Chick-fil-A. He has played tennis throughout high school, competing at the state competition last year. He has also competed in state one act, literary competitions and NGA’s spring musical. Bear enjoys photography, singing and working at his church and school. He has traveled to the Philippines twice on mission trips. Grant is a weekly volunteer at his church running the sound system. Each summer, he volunteers at his church camp teaching sound engineering and life guarding. Bear plans to attend Savannah College of Art and Design and become a sound design engineer. He selected Diana Crumbley as his teacher of the month.

Ryleigh Holloway is the Student of the Month from Putnam County High School (PCHS). She is the daughter of Craig and Julie Holloway. Ryleigh is an honor roll student, achieving highest average on the cheer team her junior year. She has earned the Central Georgia Technical College Award of Excellence and is a certified nursing assistant. Ryleigh is a member of the student council, Beta Club, National Honor Society and HOSA. She enjoys playing on the soccer team and competition cheerleading team. Her hobbies include attending church, shopping, traveling and playing soccer. Holloway volunteers in the community with the community food drive, bake sales, Christmas foster party, and as a volunteer at the Christmas party at the local nursing home. She plans to attend the University of Georgia and major in public health. She chose Melissa Harvey as her teacher of the month.
