Ronnie Lee Finch, Sr. of Union Point, died at his home on Feb. 7, 2020 at the age of 71.

The service was held on Monday, Feb. 10 at First Baptist Church, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point. Paul Jackson and Rev. Alec Ward officiated. Interment followed in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point. Serving as pallbearers were Ed Roland, John Roland, Dean Roland, Jacob Ward, Noah Ward, Will Finch, Danny Sines, Bradley Benkoski and Sandar VanLaan.

Ronnie was born Feb. 20, 1948 in Greensboro to the late Lillie Jennings Finch and the late Glenn Boswell Finch. He graduated from Greene County High School in 1967. He served four years in the United States Air Force 1967-1971. Ronnie loved working with his hands making wooden items and jewelry. His passion was his family and he loved doing things with them and for them. He was a member of First Baptist Church Union Point and served as a Youth Sunday School Teacher and deacon for over twenty years. He was City Superintendent for Union Point for twenty years and later had his own business selling utility supplies to cities in Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jean King and Evelyn Dunn and brothers, Glenn Finch and Johnny Finch.

His survivors are his wife of 51 years, Judith Byrd Finch; his children, Amy (Joey) Laux of Union Point, Jenny Ward of Union Point, Lee (Jessica) Finch of Carrollton; seven grandchildren, Cammie and Kenzie Laux, Allie Laux (Bradley) Benkoski , Jacob and Noah Ward, Jordan Finch (Danny) Sines, and Will Finch; six great grandchildren, Aiden, Brody, Addison, and Aubree Benkoski, Abby and Tripp Sines. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (Jim) Tatman of Marietta.
