With Greene County and Lake Country still reeling from a tragic accident that took the life of 17-year-old Ethan Yearwood on Oct. 7, another tragedy has taken the life of Chasity Allen of Greensboro.

Her son Tennet was also seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, where he was scheduled for surgery Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2017 Nissan Titan driven by 23-year-old Jordy Casas of Athens was traveling south on Carey Station Road and the 1999 Ford Windstar Driven by 40-year-old Chastity Allen was traveling north when the two vehicles collided head-on just south of Choo Choo Drive at 5:51 p.m. Oct. 18.

Allen suffered fatal injuries in the crash, and Tennett faces a long road to recovery.

An outpouring of love and sympathy for mother and son swept across social media platforms in the wake of the tragedy.

"I've cried since I found out and I still don't want to believe it," Heather Harris said on her Facebook Page. "We are so sad and devastated. Chasity Callaway Allen, what I wouldn't give for one more text or one more two-hour phone call or to see you because you were ALWAYS laughing. We will love on Tennett and Taylor for you. I will miss you so much."

And responding to the post by Harris, Linda Knowles Robinson said: "What a beautiful tribute to Chastity Callway Allen. I can hear her laughing in heaven now! You just put a smile on my face I needed this morning."

Two Rivers Nutrition has introduced a tribute tea in Allen's honor called "Queen Chasity.”

"We miss you and love you so much," Two Rivers posted on its Facebook Page. "Miss Chasity, I'll help take care of your beautiful and amazing son Tennett. He is my adopted little brother. Please visit from heaven whenever you can."

A gofundme.com account has been established to help the family. Chastity had no life insurance. The link to the GoFundMe account is https://gofund.me/e593a9d9

The GSP's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is investigating the accident. Charges may be pending.
