For the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 4, the Morgan County Charter School System had three known cases of COVID-19 among students and five staff members tested positive for the virus.
According to the system’s daily updates on its website, morgan.k12.ga.us, the five staff members are all from Morgan County Primary School.
The system also reported that for the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 4, 33 students were quarantined at home due to exposure at school. Those statistics account for just over 1 percent of the total designated population.
The system also reported that for the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 4 eight staff members were quarantined at home due to exposure at school. That is 1.67 percent of the designated population.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the system reported that it was notified over the weekend that one primary school staff member had tested positive and one other MCPS staff member was forced to quarantine due to exposure.
Also on Tuesday, the system reported that another primary school staff member had tested positive. The system then identified close contacts and 21 students and one staff member will quarantine due to exposure.
On Tuesday, the system was notified of one high school student who had tested positive. However, there were no close contacts to the student.
