Margie Jeanette Shelton Edwards, 86, of Greensboro, GA passed away, Monday, April 27, 2020 at her home with family.

Graveside Services were held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Robinson Baptist Church Cemetery, 3230 Greensboro Road N.W., Crawfordville, GA 30631 with Rev. Tim Tabler officiating. The family held a private visitation at Callaway Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons: Adam Yearwood, Ethan Yearwood, Jamie Edwards, David Edwards, Shane Yearwood and Rodney Trowell.

Margie was born in Warrenton, GA on September 16, 1933 she was one of four children of the late Leonard Harris Shelton and Agnes Moates Shelton. She attended Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville, GA and on June 10, 1950 she married Lawrence Gus Edwards. For many years she worked for Lena Hy Garment Company and later she became the tour guide for Alexander H Stephens State Park in Crawfordville, GA.

She was an excellent cook, enjoyed word puzzles, reading and spoiling her grandchildren. Margie was a member of Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church. Margie was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Edwards; brothers, Thomas Randolph Shelton and Jackie Shelton; an infant daughter, Barbara Jane Edwards; and son-in-law, Larry Higdon.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Agnes Yearwood (Johnny) of Greensboro, GA, Margaret Holland (Gene) of Jackson, GA and Emily Callaway (David) of Greensboro, GA; son, Fred Edwards (Kathy) of Greensboro, GA; brother, James D. Shelton (Sandra) of Crawfordville, GA; nine grandchildren, Amanda Crater (Paul), Bonnie Chipman (Jason), Rodney Trowell, Shane Yearwood (Emily), Adam Yearwood (Amy) Jamie Edwards (Kelly), David Edwards, Anna Higdon and Dena Folds (Spenser); eighteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

The family requests that any memorials be made to Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, 2830 Highway 15 South, Greensboro, GA 30642.
