Lake Oconee Area FCA hosted its first-ever Firefly Tri Super Sprint on Saturday, July 28. In total, 144 people participated in the triathlon that began and ended at the Morgan County Aquatics Center.

Participants began with a 200-yard swim. Then, they transitioned into biking 7 miles before finishing the final leg of the race, a 2-mile run.

“The funds are going to support FCA camp scholarships, Fields of Faith, which will take place on Oct. 24 at MCHS, Girls Night In, which will take place in January, and coaches date night in the spring,” said Morgan County FCA area representative Jessi Fincher.

Morgan County FCA falls under the umbrella of Lake Oconee FCA. The vision of FCA is “to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes” and its mission is “to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.”

Fincher said she is grateful for the community partners that helped make the Firefly Tri Super Sprint possible. She specifically wanted to thank the gold, silver and bronze level sponsors.

“If you are interested in getting a huddle for your child’s sports team, please email me at jfincher@fca.org,” Fincher concluded.
