The Lake Oconee Academy boys soccer team defeated Trion High 7-0 on Tuesday, April 27.
The No. 2-seeded Titans traveled three hours towards the Alabama border to take on the No.1-seeded Bulldogs in the Sweet Sixteen round of the GHSA Class A Public state playoffs.
LOA dominated from the get-go as Trion never really had a chance. The Titans jumped on the Bulldogs from the moment of kickoff.
Titan senior John Clay Wofford led the way with four goals, followed by junior Kyle Beasley with two. Sophomore Jefferson Amay added one score in the Titans’ lop-sided victory. Senior goalkeeper Logan Fedelem was credited with the shutout.
“Overall, it was a great team win,” head coach Julie Brooker said in an email sent to the Lake Oconee News.
Brooker added that it was a six-hour round trip, but it was well worth the drive.
The Titans improved to 13-3 on the season with an Elite Eight appearance looming.
Lake Oconee Academy will travel to Echols County next week, which is around the Valdosta area. That matchup will take place on Wednesday, May 5.
