Lady Dogs fall to Burke County on home court

Despite a hard fought effort to narrow Burke County’s lead at the half, the Morgan County Lady Dogs fell to the Bears at home on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Late in the third quarter, the Lady Dogs managed to tie up the game, 29-29. However, Burke County answered with a quick score and a narrow lead, 31-29. Morgan County tried to throw the ball down the court before the third quarter buzzer sounded, but they were unsuccessful.

Senior Taylor Frederick added to the Lady Dogs gradually increasing score with .40 seconds left in the fourth quarter. A timeout was called, but it wouldn’t be enough. MCHS lost to Burke 44-39.

The girls were then on the road to finish regular season play against Harlem on Saturday, Feb. 13.

The girls won 47-27 and they played Tuesday, Feb. 16 in the first round of region tournament at home.
