John Horace O’Neal of Greensboro died on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020 at his residence at the age of 89.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3400 Penfield Road, Greensboro, GA 30642. Rev. Bobby Tomlin officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bill Mize, Jonathan Morris, Austin Tomlin, and Barry Bennier.

John was born in Greensboro on May 11, 1930, he was the son of the late James W. O’Neal and Mable Bullock O’Neal. He graduated from Greensboro High School. After high school he worked for Chipman Union in Union Point, GA and retired as a supervisor in 1992. He married the former Margaret Mize on Dec. 2, 1954. John was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He especially enjoyed music, movies, art, drawing and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Mize O’Neal of Greensboro, GA and his siblings, Irene Marchman, Alfred Bullock and Marcus Bullock.

John is survived by two daughters, Janice Brooks and husband Curtis of Greensboro, GA and Vickie O’Neal of Greensboro; five grandchildren; Curtis Brooks, III and his wife Shelette, George Brooks, John Brooks and his wife Angel, Rebecca Brooks and Janet Brooks; four great grandchildren, Violetta, Vanya, Visely and Vega-Lee Jade Brooks; other relatives and friends.
