Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties, LLC is pleased to announce Scott Hoersten as Salesperson of the Month for May 2020 with four transactions totaling $3.6 million. This is his second consecutive award for 2020. We sat down with Scott to discuss his history and life at Reynolds.
You’ve been a part of Reynolds since the very beginning. What brought you here and what have you enjoyed the most about your lake life?
I was offered a position to head up planning and development for Linger Longer Development Company in 1985. I saw it as a unique opportunity to work on developing a community similar to those on which I’d consulted Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. What I enjoy most about lake life is the ability to integrate Lake Oconee into many aspects of our daily life, whether that’s meeting friends and family by boat, going to one of several restaurants on the lake, or just going for a sunset cruise with my wife, Anne, and our neighbors, Johnny and Nancy.
What is your favorite thing about Reynolds?
Everything…the people, the recreational opportunities, the laid back feel of our community, the sense of belonging and being able to call Reynolds home. I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
This is your second consecutive Salesperson of the Month award of 2020. In your experience, what’s the trick to making a successful sale?
There is no trick, other than dedication to helping clients, and honesty. I believe people see in me someone who enjoys helping others find what I discovered 33 years ago.
What sets you apart from your colleagues?
My background as a land planning consultant with the Reynolds family and 22-year tenure as VP of planning and development before entering sales, has helped me see and share Reynolds from a historic perspective and enables me to help my customers envision how their home will fit the land.
What excites you about the future?
I look forward to watching the future generations of my family experience and participate in the Reynolds life, and enjoying the beauty of the community of which I have been fortunate to play a part.
