Gallo Center for Women’s Health to bring gynecology care to Cowles Clinic

After practicing for 30 years in the Chicago area, Dr. Martin Gallo has opened the Gallo Center for Women’s Health to provide the Lake Oconee region with expert and experienced gynecology care.

“After building what we thought would be a second home and spending time here, my wife Shannon and I have fallen in love with the area, and plan to transition my practice to be here fulltime,” said Dr. Gallo. “I am excited to offer the highest level of medical and surgical care to the women of this community.”

Dr. Gallo is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 1992 and discontinued his obstetrics practice in 2018 to focus on gynecology. He has received national recognition by U.S. News and World Report as a “Top Doctor” and multiple regional Chicago area awards for his clinical skills.

His expertise covers all aspects of gynecology including management of hormone imbalance, menstrual problems and pelvic pain. He also provides well-woman care for all ages.

Dr. Gallo has particular skills in the area of surgical treatment of disorders of the female pelvis and has developed modifications of older surgical procedures with the focus on higher success rate, minimizing risk and maximizing rapid return to normal activity after surgery. He has particular expertise with managing pelvic organ prolapse using natural tissue repair and never uses any artificial mesh.

Dr. Gallo received his medical degree in 1986 from Northwestern University in Chicago and completed his residency training at the prestigious Prentice Women’s Hospital at Northwestern. He has practiced medicine in suburban Chicago and has been a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the last 30 years.

He has clinical privileges at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan and Putnam General Hospitals and his office is located at the Cowles Clinic, 1000 Cowles Clinic Way, Aspen Cottage, Second Floor, Suite A-100, Greensboro, GA 30642.
