Emma Dean Davis Holcomb of Union Point died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens. She was 78.

Memorial Services were held Friday, June 21, at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel, 208 North Rhodes St., Union Point, with the Rev. Tim Tabler officiating.

Living most of her life in Union Point, she was born on April 12, 1941, to the late Thomas Edward Davis and Mary Ludie Smith Davis. Emma Dean graduated from Union Point High School. On Dec. 23, 1960, she married Julian Holcomb of Lincolnton. After living in Atlanta for 10 years, they returned to Union Point in 1971. She worked for Citizens Union Bank, which later became BankSouth, as Assistant Vice President, retiring in 1993. Emma Dean enjoyed gambling at Cherokee and was an excellent cook, especially biscuits. She attended Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Danny Holcomb of Greensboro and Randy Holcomb (Shanna) of Milledgeville; brother, Thomas Davis, Jr. (Lynda) of Union Point; sister, Pansy Andrews (George) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Rusty Holcomb, Brandi Holcomb Clements (Daniel) and Ava Holcomb; and great-grandchildren, Colton Clements, Landon Clements, Logan Clements and Aubree Clements.
