Sept. 18, 1944 - Sept. 13, 2020
Ellen Raye Tucker Tufts, 75 years of age, passed peacefully from this world on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
The family wishes to honor her memory through a private celebration of life.
Ellen was born to Robert and Betty Tucker on September 18, 1944 in Louisville, KY. She attended Morehead State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. She was married for forty years to Wayne Seth Tufts, who preceded her in death.
Ellen would be described by friends and family as a very special and giving person. She loved to spend her days outside with nature and to be physically active, often tending to the garden, fishing at the dock, and mowing the lawn. She was very close to her two sisters , Diane Garrison and Pam Lundy and brother-in-law, Gene Lundy. She lived with the sole purpose to serve the Lord. She began each morning in song rejoicing in the Lord’s blessing for that day. She was a beacon of light whose soul beamed God’s love. Those who were closest to Ellen know that she is leaping for joy with her Heavenly Father. Zephaniah 3:17 - “He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing”. God descended these words upon her heart in her final days.
She is survived by her son, Thom Tufts and his wife, Cyndi; her grandchildren, Isabella and Chloe, daughter, Rhea Jeanne Starnes and her husband, David.
For those wishing to honor her, a special note of prayer or blessing may be sent to the Charismatic Christian Center 1316 W. Spring St. Monroe, GA 30655. All notes will be collected by the family and serve as messages of reassurance.
