Elizabeth Moore Walker, 91, of Greensboro, GA, died Oct. 2, 2021.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at Walker United Methodist Church with Rev. John Pike officiating.

A lifelong resident of Greene County, she was born the daughter of Anderson Crawford Moore and Annie Lou Veazey Moore on Aug. 14, 1930. Following grammar school years in White Plains, Georgia, she graduated from Greensboro High School with the class of 1947 and then proceeded to attend Athens Business College. Upon completing that program, she worked as a cashier for the Life Insurance Company of Virginia for several years before returning to Greensboro.

On July 14, 1951, she and Franklin Deleon Walker were married and together they enjoyed the country and farm life. Elizabeth’s life centered around home and family that she loved so dearly. Growing flowers brought her much joy, and she delighted in preparing special family meals with homegrown vegetables from her garden. From the time she joined Walker United Methodist Church in 1951, she was a faithful and active member of the church and the Moon Bible Class. Her husband of fifty-seven years, Franklin Deleon Walker, preceded her in death, as well as a sister, Marjorie Moore Walker.

Surviving is a daughter, Debbie W. Blitch (Freddy) of Statesboro, Georgia; a son, Kent Walker (Melinda) of Greensboro, Georgia; three grandchildren: Catherine Walker O’Neal (T.J.) of Greensboro, Erick Blitch (Victoria) of Statesboro, and Walker Blitch (Gina) of Statesboro; and four great-grandchildren: Carly O’Neal, Caroline O’Neal, Sloan Blitch, and Fred Blitch. Her brother, Billy Moore (Barbara) of White Plains also survives, along with a number of other relatives and friends.

Any memorials may be made to the Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, Georgia 30642.
