Dorothy McKinley Stewart, 93, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Legacy Health and Rehabilitation.

Graveside Services were held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, with Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ken Cawthon, Ken Stewart and Jamie Stewart.

Mrs. Dorothy was born in Greene County on Dec. 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Carlos Perks McKinley and Ruby Esther Phelps McKinley. She attended school in Penfield and graduated from Greensboro High School. She married Milton Lewis Stewart on Dec. 23, 1946. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and a great vegetable gardener. Mrs. Dorothy was devoted to her church, White Plains Baptist Church, where she taught the Girl’s Auxiliary and served on the flower committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Lewis Stewart in July of 2005; her son, Richard Stewart in February of 2020; and her sisters, Betty Kelly and Ruby Smith.

She is survived by a son, Charles Stewart of White Plains; daughter, Brenda Stewart Stone (Charles) of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Chuck Stone, Elizabeth Stone, Paige Deaver and Kim Daniel; great grandchildren, Abigail Daniel, Reid Daniel, Wyatt Daniel and Evans Deaver; other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Jean Dolvin, Annette Redd, Pam Reid, Shirley Shavers, Catreda Smith, Ruth Thornton, Shetrelra Turner and Emma Wright for the love and care they gave to our mother.
