What: PAPA presents ‘These Shining Lives’

More info: The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) presents “These Shining Lives” by Melanie Marnich and directed by Patrick Bohannon. This powerful play tells the true story of those courageous women who worked in the Radium Dial factory near Chicago in the 1920s and 30s. Nicknamed the Radium Girls, they painted radium on dials of clocks for a glow-in-the-dark effect. “These Shining Lives” promises to take audiences through a spectrum of emotions as they follow the fate of these women and, finally, the impact on future safety regulations for industries. “These Shining Lives” is presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. More info: Come downtown Milledgeville for the first 2022 First Friday. Main Street will be spotlighting local Food Truck Vendors as well as holding their first Block Party Bingo. Trucks will be set up and ready to serve from 5-8 p.m. There will be live music from Emma Gullo from 6-7 p.m., and a huge community bingo from 7-8 p.m.. Don’t forget that you can support your local downtown restaurants by purchasing “togo” beverages to bring down to the event. Live music will be located in the Deep Roots main stage parking lot.
