Jordyn Burke was presented with and named the first-ever scholarship recipient of the Ezekiel Memorial Scholarship on June 13. This scholarship foundation was started and founded by Lucindia Monday, Ezekiel’s granddaughter, along with his children, as a way to honor his legacy and carry it forward to future generations of students. Ezekiel, a lifelong native of Putnam County, was the owner of a local barber salon for more than 57 years.
